Accessibility
Books are for everyone was the founding sentence of this product, and it includes people who read this site with a screen reader, a keyboard, or high-contrast settings.
What this site does
- Every page starts with a skip link to the content.
- Interactive elements — the navigation, the FAQ, the modals, the journal demonstration — are keyboard operable; modals trap focus and close on Escape.
- Text colours meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast against their backgrounds, and focus is always visible.
- Animations respect your reduced-motion setting.
- Decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology; informative ones carry text alternatives.
- The site is readable in five languages, switched from every page header.
Known limits
- The journal demonstration announces its recomputed figures only when focused; a live-region version is on the list.
- Translated pages carry a note where detailed passages remain in English for now.
